With the increasing emphasis on technology, children are playing outside less and less. There are studies that show indicate childhood obesity, ADD, and depression are all linked to children who have no regular contact with nature. The “Natural Play Movement” that is sweeping across the world pushed Landscape Structures into action leading to our Play Naturally line. We have combined the beauty of nature with the durability of manufactured equipment to give kids and their families the perfect place to grow and play!
There are seven major benefits for a child to play outdoors. They are:
- More creative, imaginative play
- Emotional coping & stress reduction
- Improved physical health and motor coordination
- Cognitive social and sensory development
- Concentration, self-control, and self-discipline
- Creative problem solving
- An appreciation for the environment
Research shows that children who play in a natural setting are happier, healthier, and more likely to appreciate the world around them. Green spaces, sunlight, and fresh air can reduce the symptoms of ADHD, increase motor skills, improve academic performance, and improve strength and coordination. Playing outside can also help to build social relationships.
