You’ve been asking for it! Here’s what’s new for 2013 at Landscape Structures!
First, (and probably my favorite) is the all new line of digital playground equipment called Pulse. This equipment features multi-sensory game play that encourages children to work their bodies and their minds, while learning to play together. Pulse helps kids develop hand-eye coordination, action/reaction skills, and sportsmanship. This equipment is durable, weather resistant, and water proof, keeping repair cost at a minimum.
How does it work? EASY! One thing Landscape Structures did while developing these products is ask those who use it what they thought of the competition. One of the universal truths was that our competitors’ equipment is too complicated. So we simplified it. Of course, because we know as adults we like to read instructions, there will be a sign to explain how the game is activated. However, I don’t think the kids need a sign to figure it out. Pulse is set up to flash, blink, and make noise every 2 minutes or so to grab attention. A child’s natural impulse is going to be to touch whatever is making that noise and flashing at them. That, my friends, is all it takes to get Pulse going. A simple touch. Once a child smack a button the game begins. Each time a child hits the correct button, they are rewarded with lights and music. The more times they get it right, the faster the game moves. It’s a great sensory stimulating, and cardio workout for kids of all ages!

There are also 3 new lines of site furnishings that are made to match any equipment you may have. Here are some details:
This collection is made to match a Weevos or Evos playstructure. Arches are carved into both steel and Permalene in the benches and trash receptacles to compliment more contemporary designs. There are also 2 types if bike racks in the “Arch” style to compliment Evos and Weevos equipment.
If bold and bright are your style, then you should check out this line! From artstic looking benches, to the kaleidoscope trash receptacle, this is sure to catch the eye of the passer by. Our line of tendertuff benches, picnic tables, and trash receptacle are also part of this line. You can get any of these pieces in any of our permalene and tendertuff colors!
Need a more natural look to your play space? Want to get the kids in your care back in touch with nature? We have something for you too! The new Acorn Seats, made out of Glass-Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC), are both durable and beautiful. They are molded and hand painted to look like a real giant acorn! We also have a new Wood Grain line that includes benches and a litter receptacle that are available in both Cedar, and a Cedar/Mink mix. They are made from recycled plastic, so these are a perfect fit for those working on recycled material grants! New for this year, we also have bike racks available in the shape of a maple leaf. For the little ones in your care, we also have a Tot Picnic Table available that is perfect for ages 6 months to 5 years!
So what’s new for Independents? How about the new We-Saw SeeSaw?! This amazing new product accommodates up to 8 kids comfortably. There are 4 molded seats that are perfect for wheelchair transition, and a platform in the middle with a handle for more kids to join in the fun! There are rubber bumpers mounted into the ground to help with surfacing heights. Sometimes, when surfacing gets low, a child can push a seesaw past it’s inner coil causing it to break. These new bumpers will keep that from happening.
What kid doesn’t like mom and dad picking them up and spinning them around by their hands, giving them a sense of flying? The new FlyWheel Spinner does just that AND gives mom and dad a break! Kids grab on to the handles, run, and then pick up their feet. The centrifugal force picks them up and pushes them out giving them the feel of flying!
New for this year, we also have a line of play equipment perfect for the wee little people in your care. We now have a line of 6 month-23 month equipment that is perfect for daycares and parks! All of the equipment available through this line is ASTM F2373 compliant. Slides have a narrower width, balance bars help little ones stand up, and panels encourage touching and interaction. Please check out the “Early Childhood” line if you’re in the market for new equipment for the little ones!
Last, but certainly not least, is the new Playbooster-Evos Hybrid line we now offer. This line allows the unscripted play of Evos, with the cost efficiency of Playbooster! With no arches, and few (if any) decks, this line encourages kids to use their imaginations going from one play event to the next. This encourages hand-eye coordination and motor planning. The play choices are endless!
